Life is vulnerable

This morning I received a sms from Sonia telling me about the dragonboat accident in Cambodia and that one of the deceased is my ex-kayaking team mate, Reuben Kee.

Although I do not share much memory with him, but the sudden departure of his strucked me deeply on how vulnerable life can be, and thus the next thought that was in mind was to really treasure those around us.. But its always easier said than done. How many times have we taken our family members and friends for granted? Answer is too many... human beings will not learn how to treasure without loss... and that is always how things are...

Visited the chinese sin-seh this morning to fix my left thumb... sprained it 2 months back... so the sin-seh did a little "pull" to relocate the bones.. and as the injury has been for quite sometime, the sin-seh did an accupuncture for me... it wasn't too painful, just alittle when the needle was inserted...

After that, dad and I went to Bukit Panjang Plaza for lunch... no much changes during the past 9 months.. well, I guess it isn't a long period for any significant changes to take place... This time back in Singapore, the major change will be on the roads, for eg. there is a new highway called KPE linking PIE to ECP and most of the road signs are also changed.. not to mention the increased in ERP charges as well as petrol costs.... Living standards in Singapore has definitely increased by quite a bit... But why not the wages? hmmm..

Home Sweet Home - Day 1 without Nicholas

Ah.. finally HOME! after 9 months in Australia... I would say that the past 9 months flew by very quickly....

Yesterday, I took my first lonely flight.. the journey was smooth but tiring.. I can't wait for the plane to reach its destination cos I was sandwiched between two other passengers and was unable to get out of my seat for a walk or even to visit the toilet as and when I wanted to.. but nevertheless, was glad that I had a safe trip back...

When I was alone on the plane, I began to realised how lonely it is without Nic by my side... when we parted at the airport, Nic was so sad.. and because he was so sad, it breaks my heart to see him cry... How I wished he can just be home together with me too... but now all I can ask for is his safety in Melbourne... 70days is really not a short period of time.. especially when both of us are so used to each other's company...

Anyway, just pray that 31st Jan will come soon..

I woke up pretty early this morning.. can't sleep well.. I guess is the pillow (damn hard)... so in the end the whole night I slept without a pillow and only in the morning, then I used the bolster as my pillow... argh.. almost got a stiff neck... but all in all, being home was good.. seeing how happy my family members are made me happy too.... just kinda disappointed that Rico wasn't too exceptionally excited to see me.. haha.. though he did give me a face mask of his saliva... :)

I went to the gym at paragon before having lunch with my sister... she treated me a lunch at Crystal Jade Xiao Long Bao... the dumplings are very nice.. I must bring Nic for a meal when he is back... I am sure he would love the dumplings too.. :)

Now am back home... playing with Rico and also chatting with Nic over the MSN... for the next 70 days, MSN and Pfingo will be our mode of communication....

Just had a homecooked dinner of steak and chilli crab... :)

Thank God that the sun eventually came out... So we went ahead with our sun-tanning plan at Brighton Beach.... :)

We took a slow drive to the beach (mainly because of the slow traffic... haha) Upon getting out of the car, we were surrounded by dozens of flies.... eeeks... so irritating... they are attracted to us like how they are attracted to shit... but of cos, we are not shit.. haha... and of cos we had our shower... its just because its summer, and during summer there will be plenty of horseflies everywhere... gosh.. luckily I won't be here to entertain them...

It wasn't long before we settled down at a spot where the view is not that bad and the sun is strong... We spreaded out a piece of table cover and two towels before lying down for a tan... Although there were flies humming around us, but I was pretty alright with them.. But Nic was very irritated by the flies.. so I suppose he didn't really enjoy the tan... we tanned for an hour or so before we decided to leave that place.... end up we aren't that tan too... the sun isn't that strong today... we we thought of visiting another beach on Friday to get a better tan...

Alrighty, we took some pictures too... hehe.. and of cos, I was in the new bikini that I bought specially for this sun-tanning... ;p

Waiting for the Sun to come out before we can head to the beach... but still no sight of the sun since morning.. weather forecast states that there'll be fog in the morning and will slowly become sunny in the noon.. hmmm.. can't wait to go for a tan....

For the past few days, we have been really taking our time to go shopping... catch a movie.. just doing things that a couple will do during dating period.. we are still dating aren't we.. haha... :)

Sigh... just a week more before I head back to Singapore... Am suppose to be happy.. but because Nic will be left here alone, makes me really worried and sad... how I wish he can go back earlier with me.. sigh!

Been slacking for the past few days.. feels so good to be able to spend the whole day watching tv and going out without having to worry about school work.... gotta take this opportunity to really relax and enjoy!

Went with Tania to catch the Phantom of the Opera last Thursday.. the performance was very good.. its my first time watching an opera, and I am liking it... hehe... perhaps will try to watch more of them in future... After the opera, we went to Crown Casino to try our luck.. but too bad for me... my lucky Dog machine didn't bring me any luck... :(

On Friday, the four Singaporeans (Tania, Janice, Tien Fun and me) gathered togehter at my place for a mahjong session.... it was really fun.... haven't played for such a long time.. How I missed those weekends where Nic and I will go Gerald's house and play with him and Rachel (and for the period, I think I am alittle addicted to Mahjong).. :p Although lady luck isn't smiling at me, but am glad to have the opportunity to play with them as well as to catch up...

Yesterday and today, we are busy sending our friends to the airport, Saturday is Tania and today is Varun.... Nic seems to be a little sad.. I guess he must be very reluctant to let me go back Singapore alone.. I am also a little reluctant to leave him here alone.. but I really wanna go back.. sigh... :(

Anyway, its only 10 days from the date of my departure... We will try to spend some quality time together these few days.. we planned to have a picnic at the beach and have a feast of crab and steak too... :) I will so miss him.... siggggghhhhhh....

Finally! Exams are over!!! Yay!! :)

A long awaited day.... so happy and feel so relaxed now that I don't have to study anymore for this semester. Hopefully all my papers will pass with flying colours!

Planned a long list of programmes... will start from tomorrow where I will go with Tania, to buy some nuts back for my relatives... haven't start on the list of stuff to get yet, but am going to plan them out tonight...

Now its 8.25pm in Melbourne, but the sky is still bright... guess that's the whole purpose of daylight saving, to push back 1 hour of the time to enjoy a longer day light (if not it would have been 7.25pm instead).. anyway, although I do love the long day, but when it comes to dinner time, I tend to feel abit confused.. cos the feeling doesn't feel like dinner time, but yet the time is already 8pm... so we will normally end up eating late... haha..

Hmmm, nothing much to update at the moment... so i will just leave it to my future post... :)
