Guess its time to post up some pictures of the apartment that Nic and I will be staying in for the next 1 year. =)

This is our second week in this apartment. Its really good.. There's a mini gym and pool on the 15th level too...


This place oversees the Yarra River and the Crown Casino... It also has a wonderful night view...

Over here, you will be able to hear police sirens on Friday and Saturday nights... and alot of partying going on too... However, we have yet to try out any clubs or pubs... But school's starting next week, so hopefully we can get to know more friends.. then that's when we can stop crouching at home everyday. haha...

third week in Melbourne... beginning to miss home.... =(

It is the first day of the third week here in Melbourne.

Last week was pretty hot. Perspiration even just sitting at home. haha... hate the heat....

Well, I begin to really miss Singapore alot.. I miss my family, miss my dog.. miss spending time at home (now then i begin to realise and regret not spending more time with my family when i had the chance to)... I really look forward to go back at the end of this year....

Today is suppose to the chu-er of the Chinese New Year, but no celebration over here at all.. the only mini-celebration Nic and I had was a steamboat together at home. Though it was good, but still cannot compare with those we have back in Singapore, where everyone gathers around the table.. where there are laughters... (sob sob.. I MISS MY HOME!!!)

Gosh! to think its only the 3rd week... so many more weeks to go... =(

Anyway, just an update, Nic and I moved into our new 1 bedroom apartment last week. Really thank God that Nic is here with me, at least that makes me less sad... at least someone to comfort me when i miss home...

O ya, to all friends reading my blog, Happy Chinese New Year to you... sorry for not being able to reply to some of your greetings cos it will really be expensive for me to reply back...

Tomorrow our internet will be up.. so I can be online everyday!!! Yay!!! Finally when i can chat with mummy papa and take a look at my baby rico... (better don't talk about them anymore.. if not i will sure tear again... sobz) ..

Getting Started... In Melbourne

It has been quite some while since I last updated my blog.

I am currently now in Melbourne. Had been busy setting up the necessary stuff for the coming 2 years. Nic and I were here since 6 Feb. For the past 6 days, we are both busy searching for apartment, opening bank account, familiarising ourselves with Melbourne.

Melbourne is indeed a very nice place.. slow paced.... but it is also a very expensive place to live in... unless you are working... cos a normal meal outside can easily cost you AUD6-7.. so we really got to scrimp and save, and try to eat at home as much as we can.

For the past few days, the weather here was generally good... strong cold wind and cooling weather... (a little different from what I expected, especially since it is suppose to be summer). =)

Over here, shop closes very early. By 7pm, almost all the shopping centres are closed.. so we are spending all our evenings at home watching tv. Since it was only the first week, we didn't really get to explore much. But I am really looking forward in getting to know this place better, and hopefully can bring my visitors around when they come. haha...

Also, we have managed to find a good apartment in a good location... its a one bedroom apartment. small but cosy. however, we do still have a spacious living area, hence we probably still might be able to accommodate some friends when they visit us.. haha... (must book in advance wor...=p)

oK, think I will pen-off for today... will continue to update my blog as often as I can, as well as to add in photos.. so stay tuned!...

Friends-Meetup-Session 2: Kayaking Pals

31st Jan 2007:

Yesterday we finally had a gathering, before Nic & I depart for our studies. However, it was a pity that Nic can't join us for the session.. And his "lightning-hands" buddy misses him.. whahaha... Nevertheless, really hope to meet up with them again real soon.

The agreed meeting time was at 7pm, but as usual, our dear Elaine is always late.. =p But of cos, we didn't wait for her to arrive before the 3 of us, Sam, Serene and I make the decision to have our dinner at Fish & Co (Glasshouse). After arriving there, we placed our orders (Elaine instructed us to eat without her.. and we did.. haha) .. Sam ordered a sweet and sour fish, while Serene and I share a seafood platter for 2 (i guess that is the most value-for-money item in that whole menu)... =) The 3 of us chatted as we waited for her arrival.

And since its at Fish & Co, we won't forget the "Stella's Dip"... Sam immediately asked the waitress for extra tar-tar sauce and garlic.. haha.. they still remember the method i taught them years ago.. hahaha.. =)

*Hey everyone, you guys must really give this a try... when you dine at Fish & CO, unless u HATE garlic, if not, try the Garlic Mayo Sauce which i invented! The method of making is simple, just mix the minced garlic and the tar-tar sauce together... the sauce taste great as a dip, especially with the Butter Rice.. haha.. dun forget ya! =p*

Finally at 8pm, Elaine arrived.. She placed an order for the Corriander Fish (OMG! you should see how they covered the whole fish with minced corriander leaves.. eeeks!!! But definitely will be Nic's favorite.. Simply can't imagine how he can eat the leaves just like that.. *puke*)

As linkesh's class ends at 8pm, he only arrived at the gathering at around 8.45pm... he didn't order any thing as he said that he was on vegetarian as the next day is Thaippusam...

After dinner at Fish & Co, Linkesh brought us to have a drink at a pub in clarke quay.. a place with very nice ambience.. but didn't really get the name of that place though.. =) There, we recalled the good old times.. its really nice and heart-warming to meet up with them and recall the past together.. we all felt as though all the kayaking days were just yesterday... Memoriess...... hmmmm.....

All of us enjoyed ourselves... I am really glad to be able to meet up with this bunch of friends... =D We left the place around 12am and Linkesh sent us home.. very nice of him.. that's him anyway... always nice... haha.. =p

1st Feb 2007:

As for today (1st Feb), I didn't do much the whole day.. stayed at home and watch TV.. clean the house.... haiz.. time really pass so fast.. so little time to spend with my family... so little time with Rico... i really will miss him terribly... and my parents....... =( haiz... but what to do.....
