The new creation... "Ourway" Sandwich!

We attended mass this evening, after which we went to the supermarket to purchase some ingredients as we are going to prepare a sandwich meal for dinner.

We bought some beef slices (ready cut for stir-frying kind), Mixed salad, Alfalfa & Garlic sprouts, Tomatoes, Pita bread skin, honey-mustard sauce and sausages.

After we reached home, Nic started to prepare his "Black-pepper Stir-Fry beef" for the sandwich, while I washed the rest of the ingredients.

As it was already kinda late (8pm) and we were both famished, we sat down around the dining table as soon as the ingredients are ready. So this was how we prepared the sandwich:

Step 1: Spread some Kraft Light cream cheese spread on the pita bread,
Step 2: Place some Black-Pepper beef on top of the area spreaded with cheese,
Step 3: Place some salad and sprouts on top of the beef,
Step 4: Pour some Honey-Mustard sauce on the veges,
Step 5: Roll up the pita bread and eat.

(^_^) Sounds delicious doesn't it? In fact, it is really very very nice... and both of us were enjoying so much that we gobbled down the sandwich roll very quickly. As it was really so delicious, both of us can't resist not eating another one, hence we prepared another roll for ourselves. This time, Nic added a sausage in his roll too...

Honestly, after eating such a heavy dinner at such a late hour, I am feeling really sinful.. =( But really, it was very nice.. haha..

Anyway, while we were chatting over the dinner, Nic commented that it taste even more delicious than Subway sandwiches, hence he decided to name this creation of ours "Ourway" Sandwich Roll.. a pity that I didn't take down the picture to post it up... but really, its really mama-mia!!! =p

Anyway, like I mentioned yesterday, really need to start preventing those kgs and inches before they adds on.... ;p

ooo... its COLD! =S

ahhhh... its really getting cold now... the temperature can go as low as 15 deg each day... though its better than hot, but still the chilly wind is equally unbearable too.

to date, its the end of the 5th week of school.. another 8 more weeks to examinations... time really flies here... Easter holiday is also coming up soon and the week after next will be the term break... and 3 more assignments to rush off before the dateline in end-April.. so many things to do and so little time...

another thing about being cold is that we tend to over eat.. haha.. and its like without us realising it.. and as a result, we've invited a few kgs to our weight. haha... but I hope not... especially since I am making the effort to do my 6km run at least 4 times a week... and that is 400kcal each time.. haiz... really hate the kgs and inches.. argh!!!

nonetheless, everything else is getting along well.. Nic & I are coping well with our studies despite after the 2 yrs of rest.. and hopefully we can get some distinctions this semester!!! *cross my fingers* =p

nothing much to write at the moment cos our lives are pretty monotonous... apart from going to school, marketing, shopping, we practically spend all our time at home doing work plus watching shows on our laptops...

just an update, last week I have finally met someone from Singapore taking the same bach as me.. hehe.. its really a happy feeling to have a friend in school from the same hometown in a foreign land... her name is Janice (yes another Janice after having known 2 in luxury tours... hehe).. haven't really hang out together yet, but will definitely have the chance to... =)

I promise to post more updates and pictures in time to come ok....

An hour earlier now!

Since this is our first time experiencing daylight saving, Nic & I aren't sure of when does it start or end. So like every other Sundays, Nic & I woke up at 7.45am yesterday to attend the 9am mass. Everything went as per normal though the mass session seems a little different from the usual 9am session that we always attend. Nothing seems to be amissed since there wasn't any special indication of time avaiable too.. So happily, we attended mass and went Macdonald's to have our breakfast.

As Nic was going for his Sunday soccer session, we went home after breakfast. We still didn't suspect anything until I turned on my laptop and received a call from him. He called back to ask me to check his email regarding the location of his soccer session as no one was there yet. At the same time, after glancing at the clock on my laptop, I realised that it was one hour earlier than what was on my watch (I have actually set auto-update of daylight saving on my laptop). After clarifying with Bee gee (my lecture mate) then I know that the daylight saving ends as of yesterday, and will start again during October. Hence from now till October, the time difference between Singapore and Melbourne will only be 2 hours! hehe.. so happy cos I am one hour closer to home....

Nevertheless, poor Nic got to sit and wait in the soccer field for his other team mates to arrive; and yesterday was a very cold day... =)

Happy Birthday my baby Rico!

Its also Rico's birthday today.. he is turning 3 yrs old.. Feel very sad that I can't be there to celebrate his birthday for him.. Last year, I bought him a cake... still remember how cute he looks when he seems so eager to eat the cake while we keep stopping him and ask him to be a "good boy" ( a term we will always use when we want to give him treats.. he will just sit down and be a really good boy).. haha..

Misses him so much.. hope that he will be healthy and strong in the year and for whole of his life.... Love you rico!!! Jie jie will be back soon k!... =p
See what I mean, he is such a dearie!!! muackzzzzzzz!!!

Nike Shopping Spree!!!!

The weather here in Melbourne is really crazy... So hot yesterday and so cold today...
Anyway, slept late last night as I need to finish doing the laundry first before going to bed (we does our laundry after 11pm to enjoy the off-peak rates for water).. Woke up at around 10am this morning, had breakfast and proceed to Smith St to visit the factory outlet for Adidas and Nike (my favourite sports brand! yahooooo!!!) =p
There isn't much to buy in Adidas FO though.. but when I entered the Nike FO, I almost fainted out of happiness.. muhahaha... Nike has always been my favourite brand in Singapore.. But due to the prices back home, I can't really afford much of their stuff.... but today, Nic and I just walked and purchase all the items that we liked.. haha... I bought 1 bright pink baggy pants, 1 3/4 pants, 1 sweater & 1 white top... Nic bought 1 wind breaker & 1 sweater... Its really cheap.. for so many items, we paid less than $200... hahaha.. should have bought more.. muhahaha.... =p
Now then I understand why people say shopping is a good way to lose weight... cos you will really forget about meal time... We shopped till 3pm and finally felt hungry.. Hence we proceeded to Chinatown to have our lunch.. the food is really oily :( ...
After that, we came home.. and that is already 5plus.. actually planned to go gym to work away those oil from the lunch... but cos both of us just took a nap and slept all the way till 7.30pm... its really a good sleep.. could have slept more if not for preparing dinner... For dinner, I just cooked a pot of soup with chicken drumlets, beef slices, mushrooms, onions and some veges...
Time really passes vey fast.. every day ended so quickly... but its good cos soon it will be Dec and I will be able to fly back Singapore... just as how an Army boy will countdown for his ORD, I will also countdown for the day to be back in Singapore... Perhaps living overseas is really not my cup of tea.... hehe..

The False FIRE Alarm

This time round is not the 'Fire' alarm that strikes every hourly, but the real fire alarm in the building. And today is the second time that the fire alarm went off... but apparently, its not a real fire, someone just set it off somehow, and we had to take the stairs from our 24th floor to the ground level (after which, I can feel that my legs are wobbly) .. Luckily it was after dinner, so it somehow played its part as an exercise to digest the food. =p

Hopefully the alarm won't be going off every other day.. if not it might just be the story of the boy called wolf, and in the end we might really end up losing important things in the apartment.

Anyway, abit about the past few days in school... Days have been quite smooth and time passes relatively fast over here in Melbourne. However, assignments are coming up.. so feeling abit stressed up.. pray hard that God can help me tide through those assignments smoothly...

The weather here has also turned cold... the night temperature is less than 20degree... so got to put on a sweater, and Nicholas got to put on a pair of socks to keep his feet warm.. and he will come saying to me "ello, my name is Borat!" haha... (with an accent of course)... =p

Our daily "Fire" Alarm

Just opposite our apartment is the Crown Casino.

Everyday without fail, from 9pm - 12am, there will be a 'Fire' Alarm that goes off from there every hourly. Its really an amazing experience initially. But as days goes by, this Alarm is really kind of irritating, because each fire will be accompanied by a loud sound that resembles a mini-explosion. =p

Nevertheless, this alarm does serve its purpose of 'reporting' the time to us, as upon hearing the first 'explosion' we will know that its 9pm already. haha...

Studying Australia

This is the second week of school and the first week of tutorials. Began to think that its actually quite pointless to attend tutorials cos all the tutors are just blabbering to themselves. Unlike what I experienced in Poly, over here the teaching system is very relax. One can just enter or leave the Lecture as and when pleased, and during tutorials, apparently none of them prepared for it. haha... anyway its just my thought... no matter what the teaching system is like, i will still try and do my best to score. =)

Anyway, the weather is turning cold these few days. Heard that its already Autumn... no longer Summer... and Winter is to come in another two months... pretty sure that I will need to shop for more winter coats.. haha.. which is something that I really want to do cos I simply love the way of dressing in Winter...

And I made a friend in Uni today.. Finally yea.. And we actually shared three common units this semester, so we will be meeting each other for lecture again this thursday... Am really happy to finally meet someone..

Also, Nic introduced me to Clara and her friends.. we had dinner together at a Vietnamese Restaurant... Its really good to know more people, especially since we are both in a foreign land..

Anyway, life in Melbourne has been quite good so far... apart from the home-sickness occasionally, I am already kinda used to the life here... but still I yearn to be back home to reunite with my family and rico baby...

Hopefully that these two semesters will pass smoothly... Singapore, I'd be back SOON!

Cheers!

The first Friday of School

Today is Friday! For Nic & I, Friday onwards will be our weekend as we do not have any classes on Fridays... he he

Just now we went to make our international student card at the bank, after which we walked to Chinatown to have our lunch. On the way to Chinatown, we took some pictures...

Notice that gigantic purse in the picture? ha ha..

In Chinatown, most of the Chinese eateries are opened by Cantonese people. As we walked, we saw a lunch time special of $5.80 for a main course (which is consider cheap already).. Hence we decided to have a try. The shop sells Japanese food, so we ordered one Beef Curry Don and one Oyaku Don.

The time that I wrote this blog is 3.30pm. We are back home after a morning of walk and lunch.
We plan to go for a swim later though. he he....

Still got a lot of tutorials to complete... stress ah!!!! =(

Anyway, look forward for a good weekend...

Cheers!

School has started~

Finally after a long wait of 2 years, my university life has began!
Perhaps because of the long rest, studying once again makes me feel kinda nervous. Especially since I am in a foreign land, it makes me even more worried of how well I will be able to score in my studies.
Now, ahead of me is a tough challenge. A lot of report writings and researches to be done. But nevertheless, I will still try to do my very best. =)
"Try to fail but never fail to try!"
Will update my blog with more pictures in time to come.. So stay tune..

Tata! Cheers! =p
